01/10 – A New Wall

Nehemiah 2:17 (NASB)
“Then I said to them, ‘You see the bad situation we are in, that Jerusalem is desolate and its gates have been burned by fire. Come, let’s rebuild the wall of Jerusalem so that we will no longer be a disgrace.’”

Devotional Thought:
God gave Nehemiah a vision to rebuild what was broken. New beginnings often require courage to face ruins and faith to see restoration. Gratitude sees that God uses ordinary people for extraordinary rebuilding.

Three Comments:

  1. Gratitude sees ruins as opportunities for God’s renewal.
  2. Rebuilding is possible because God provides strength.
  3. Gratitude trusts that disgrace can turn to glory by His hand.

Poem – “The Wall Restored”
The gates were burned,
The walls were down,
But God stirred a heart,
The vision was clear,
The work began.

The people rose together,
The ruin was faced,
The strength was given,
The wall stood again,
The city was safe.

Gratitude builds in faith,
Hope sees His plan,
Peace rests in His strength,
Joy rejoices in His help,
Glory goes to God.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You that You give visions for rebuilding what is broken. Thank You that disgrace can be turned into testimony.
Teach me to face ruins with faith in You. May gratitude strengthen my hands to rebuild what You have called me to restore.
