Today's Good News

12/25 – The Joy of His Coming

Luke 2:10 (NASB)
“And so the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people.’”

Devotional Thought:
The message of Jesus’ birth was good news of great joy. Gratitude rejoices that His coming turns fear into joy, and despair into hope.

Three Comments:

  1. Gratitude rejoices that Christ’s coming is good news.
  2. His joy is for all the people, not a select few.
  3. Gratitude answers fear with faith in the Savior’s coming.

Poem – “Good News of Joy”
The night was filled with fear,
The fields were dark and still,
But heaven spoke the word,
Joy filled the earth,
Good news was given.

The Savior had come for all,
The hope of every heart,
The promise was fulfilled,
The light had dawned,
The joy was real.

Gratitude sings the news,
Faith rejoices in the gift,
Hope rests in His birth,
Peace lives in His name,
Christ is Lord.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You that the birth of Christ is good news of great joy. Thank You that His coming turns fear into rejoicing.
Help me to live each day in the joy of the gospel. May gratitude fill me as I share the good news with others.
