Luke 2:14 (NASB)
“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among people with whom He is pleased.”
Devotional Thought:
The angels sang what all creation was waiting to hear: God glorified, peace given. Gratitude rises when we see that the birth of Jesus brings heaven’s glory and earth’s peace together.
Three Comments:
- Gratitude glorifies God as the source of salvation.
- Peace on earth is the fruit of Christ’s coming.
- Gratitude remembers that God’s pleasure rests on those who receive His Son.
Poem – “Glory and Peace”
Heaven sang its song,
The sky was filled with light,
Glory rose to God,
Peace fell on earth,
Joy met the world.
The angels bore the news,
The Savior had come,
The world was changed forever,
Grace walked among men,
Love shone in the night.
Gratitude echoes the song,
Faith gives Him glory,
Hope rests in His peace,
Joy follows His presence,
Christ is praised.
Prayer:
Father, thank You that the angels proclaimed glory and peace at Christ’s birth. Thank You that heaven and earth were joined in that moment.
Help me to live with gratitude, giving You glory and walking in Your peace. May my life echo the angels’ song today.
