2 Corinthians 1:3–4 (NASB)
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”
Devotional Thought:
Gratitude takes root when we feel God’s comfort in sorrow. His compassion heals us not only for our sake but to equip us to comfort others.
Three Comments:
- Gratitude grows when affliction becomes an avenue for God’s comfort.
- His comfort is not limited—it meets us in every sorrow.
- Gratitude transforms suffering into ministry to others.
Poem – “The Comfort of God”
Tears do not fall unseen,
The Father bends to listen,
Mercy meets me in sorrow,
Comfort holds me near,
Love wraps the broken heart.
Affliction does not define me,
The Comforter whispers hope,
Peace enters the storm,
Strength steadies the weak,
Joy comes with His presence.
Gratitude flows from His comfort,
Compassion extends to others,
Healing becomes a testimony,
Mercy becomes my song,
Comfort becomes my gift.
Prayer:
Father of mercies, thank You for Your comfort that meets me in every affliction. Thank You that I am never alone in my sorrow.
Help me to share the same comfort with others. May gratitude for Your compassion make me an instrument of Your mercy.
