August 14: Let the Peace of Christ Rule in Your Hearts

Scripture:
“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.”
— Colossians 3:15 (NKJV)

Points:

  1. The peace of Christ is not passive—it rules.
  2. We are called to allow His peace to be the decision-maker.
  3. Peace comes when our hearts submit to Christ’s presence.
  4. Community matters—this peace is for the whole body.
  5. Gratitude is both the soil and the fruit of God’s peace.

Poem: Let It Rule

Peace waits to take the higher seat.
It stands beside the fearful voice.
It calls us not to silence pain,
But to let Christ decide what leads—
And follow where His calm begins.

The heart can rule by many things—
By fear, by pride, by tiredness.
But peace from Christ can take the throne.
It builds a reign of steady ground.
It speaks with truth, not fleeting words.

We let it rule when we give way.
When we choose Christ in every turn.
When gratitude unlocks the door.
When hearts release what they can’t fix.
When we make room for joy to grow.

Peace does not push; it waits to lead.
It holds the weight, it clears the way.
It finds its strength in trust, not force.
It lifts the soul to see again.
It plants its flag where fear once stood.

Today I yield to peace again.
I let it rule, not stand aside.
You are the one who calls me home.
You speak and storms begin to rest.
You are the ruler of my heart.

Prayer:
Jesus, let Your peace rule in me today. I give You my anxious thoughts and ask that You lead my heart. Thank You for calling me to peace and giving me grace to live in it. Amen.
