18. 1 Peter 2:24

“He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by His wounds you have been healed.”

  1. Healing is part of the atonement of Christ.
  2. We are called to live in righteousness after being healed.
  3. Jesus’ sacrifice provided both salvation and healing.
  4. Sin and sickness were both defeated at the cross.
  5. Faith in Christ activates the healing He provided.

Poem on 1 Peter 2:24

Stanza 1
He bore our sins upon the tree,
Took upon Himself our shame,
Every wound, every sorrow,
Laid upon His beaten frame,
For our healing, He endured.

Stanza 2
By His wounds, we are restored,
By His stripes, we are made whole,
Not just flesh but spirit too,
A healing deeper than sight,
A redemption beyond measure.

Stanza 3
He took the weight that we could not,
The burden we were bound to carry,
So that we might walk in freedom,
So that we might live in righteousness,
So that we might know His love.

Stanza 4
Now we stand upon His promise,
Not as those who walk in darkness,
But as those who have been healed,
Made whole by His sacrifice,
And held by His unshaken grace.
