31. Fear Of The Lord Means Living Ready To Meet Christ

2 Corinthians 5:10-11 — “Knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade men.”

Matthew 24:42 — “Be on the alert.”

1 John 2:28 — “Abide in Him, so that when He appears, we may have confidence.”

The fear of the Lord produces readiness. Reverence remembers that every believer will stand before Christ. Holy fear creates urgency, faithfulness, watchfulness, and devotion.

The Christian life is lived looking toward the return of Jesus. Fear of the Lord keeps eternity near and Christ central.

• Reverence keeps believers spiritually alert.
• Eternity gives weight to daily living.
• Fear of God produces readiness.

What this means:
• Christ will return.
• Believers are accountable to God.
• Daily life should reflect eternal priorities.
• Reverence strengthens faithful living.

Daily walk:
• Live each day prepared to meet Christ.
• Keep short accounts with God.
• Abide closely in Jesus daily.
