13. Fear Of The Lord Means Depending Upon God

Psalm 33:18 — “The eye of the LORD is on those who fear Him.”

Proverbs 3:5 — “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding.”

John 15:5 — “Apart from Me you can do nothing.”

The fear of the Lord destroys self-sufficiency. A reverent believer realizes that strength, wisdom, protection, and life itself come from God. Fear teaches dependence because it reveals how small we truly are and how sufficient Christ truly is.

The Christian life was never meant to be lived through human ability alone. Jesus is our life, strength, and sustaining power.

    • Reverence exposes human weakness.
    • Dependence upon God produces peace.
    • Fear of the Lord deepens trust in Christ.

    What this means:
    • Self-reliance leads to spiritual weakness.
    • God is the source of true strength.
    • Dependence is not failure but wisdom.
    • Christ sustains His people daily.

    Daily walk:
    • Pray before major decisions.
    • Depend on Scripture instead of emotions.
    • Ask God daily for strength and wisdom.
