12/20 – The Word Became Flesh

John 1:14 (NASB)
“And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us; and we saw His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

Devotional Thought:
The birth of Christ is the incarnation—the eternal Word becoming flesh. Gratitude bows before the mystery: God became man to dwell with us, reveal His glory, and give us grace and truth.

Three Comments:

  1. Gratitude marvels that the eternal Word took on human flesh.
  2. The glory of God is seen fully in Jesus Christ.
  3. Gratitude receives the grace and truth that flow from Him.

Poem – “The Word Among Us”
The eternal entered time,
The Word wore flesh,
Glory was revealed,
Grace filled the earth,
Truth walked with us.

The unseen became seen,
The infinite became near,
The holy became human,
The Son dwelt among us,
The Father made known.

Gratitude bows in wonder,
Faith rests in His grace,
Hope clings to His truth,
Love beholds His glory,
Christ is here.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You that the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. Thank You for the glory revealed in Jesus, full of grace and truth.
Help me to live daily in the wonder of the incarnation. May gratitude shape my heart as I behold His glory and receive His grace.
