- Give the Cup of Cold Water
Scripture: Matthew 10:42
Relevant Scripture:
“And whoever in the name of a disciple gives to one of these little ones even a cup of cold water to drink… he shall not lose his reward.”
Jesus teaches that no act of kindness done in His name is insignificant. Heaven notices what earth overlooks. The smallest deed done with Christ-centered love carries eternal value because it reflects the heart of the Savior.
You may not preach great sermons or lead large ministries, but you can give encouragement, kindness, prayer, hospitality, and compassion. The kingdom is built as much by quiet kindness as by public proclamation.
- Small acts of grace matter greatly to God.
- Love is proven in practical kindness.
- Eternal rewards are tied to ordinary obedience.
How This Changes My Life Day by Day
- I begin valuing simple opportunities to serve.
- I stop waiting for “big ministry moments.”
- I become more intentional in daily kindness.
- I treat ordinary moments as sacred opportunities.
What This Equips Me To Do
- Serve faithfully in unnoticed ways.
- Show Christ through practical compassion.
- Build habits of everyday ministry.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, teach me never to despise the small deed. Help me see every act of kindness as an offering to You. Make me faithful in little things, knowing You use them for eternal purposes. Amen.
