11/22 – God’s Patience

2 Peter 3:9 (NASB)
“The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not willing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance.”

Devotional Thought:
God’s patience is not delay but mercy. Gratitude remembers that His long-suffering has given us time to turn to Him and still extends hope to the world.

Three Comments:

  1. Gratitude rests in the patience that spared us from judgment.
  2. His patience is purposeful—drawing people to repentance.
  3. Gratitude waits with Him, trusting His timing.

Poem – “Mercy’s Delay”
Time is stretched by compassion,
Judgment holds its hand,
The world is given a chance,
Repentance waits at the door,
Patience reveals His mercy.

The promise is not forgotten,
The day is not abandoned,
The Lord holds history in His hand,
His will is for salvation,
His love is steadfast.

Gratitude treasures His patience,
Faith trusts His timing,
Hope waits for His day,
Mercy calls us deeper,
Compassion leads us on.

Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your patience that gives space for repentance. Thank You for delaying judgment so that mercy may abound.
Help me to live with gratitude for Your long-suffering. May I reflect that patience in how I treat others.
