11/06      God’s Protection and Presence –

Psalm 23:4 (NASB) “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”

Gratitude rests not in the absence of danger but in the presence of the Shepherd. God’s protection is not merely physical—it is His nearness that drives away fear.

  1. Gratitude is born in valleys as much as on mountaintops.
  2. Fear fades when the Shepherd walks beside us.
  3. His presence, not our strength, is the ground of our courage.

“The Valley Is Not Empty”
Shadows do not silence His voice,
The Shepherd walks with me,
Evil does not own the path,
Comfort holds the fearful heart,
Presence is my refuge.

The rod defends my weakness,
The staff directs my way,
I am not abandoned in the dark,
Companionship steadies my soul,
Faith rises in the night.

The valley is not forever,
The Shepherd leads me on,
His voice calls me to trust,
His care will not let me go,
His love will carry me through.

Lord, thank You that I never walk alone. Even in the darkest valleys, You are near. Your presence is stronger than fear.
Help me live today in courage born of Your nearness. May gratitude replace anxiety, and may my steps reflect trust in the Shepherd who never leaves.
