03/11   HUMBLE YOURSELF BEFORE GOD

“Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you.” (James 4:10)
Humility opens the door for grace. God lifts the bowed heart but resists the proud one. When we come low, acknowledging our dependence and weakness, He meets us with strength, wisdom, and nearness. Christ Himself is our pattern—He humbled Himself, and the Father exalted Him.

  • Humility attracts the favor of God.
  • Pride blocks the flow of grace.
  • Jesus is the model of holy humility.

Poem – Lower to Rise
I bow before Your greatness,
not crushed but welcomed,
finding strength where
my pride once lived.

In the low place You meet me,
quiet and patient,
teaching me the freedom
of surrender.

You lift what kneels,
raising the trusting soul,
giving grace to the heart
that yields to You.

Prayer
Lord, bend my heart low before You. Free me from pride and self-reliance. Teach me the beauty of humility and lift me by Your grace. Let Christ’s humility shape my spirit and draw me deeper into Your presence.
