And behold, a violent storm developed on the sea, so that the boat was being covered by the waves; but Jesus Himself was asleep. (Matthew 8:24)
Jesus slept in the storm. His quietness came from confidence in His Father. While disciples panicked, He rested. This is more than an example; it is an invitation.
To exalt Jesus is to live with His kind of peace. The world rages, but our hearts can rest because He is Lord over the storm. Quiet lives point to Christ’s authority.
- Christ’s peace is greater than life’s storms.
- Sleep in the storm proves sovereignty.
- Quiet trust reveals who rules.
- Jesus’ rest becomes ours by faith.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, we panic while You sleep. Forgive our small faith. Teach us to rest in Your rule even when waves rise. Show the world Your authority through our peace.
Holy Spirit, calm our fears. Point us to Christ’s victory over wind and wave. Fill us with His quietness as proof that He reigns.
Poem — “Asleep in the Storm”
Waves crash loudly.
Hearts beat wildly.
Fear grips tightly.
Jesus sleeps calmly.
Christ reigns fully.
Storms bow down.
Winds obey.
Waters still.
Disciples learn.
Jesus is Lord.
Rest is faith alive.
Peace is Christ revealed.
Quietness is power shown.
Storms become witness.
Glory belongs to Him.
