02/12 – Rest in Christ

Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28)

Quiet lives are rooted in Jesus’ promise of rest. Weariness is answered not with self-help but with a Savior. He carries the yoke and gives His people peace.
Rest is not the absence of problems but the presence of Christ. He does not remove the storm but stills the heart within it. In Him, rest becomes witness to the world.

  • Rest is a gift, not an achievement.
  • Christ is rest for the weary.
  • Quietness grows from trust, not control.
  • To rest in Christ is to exalt Him above fear.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for calling the weary. You invite the broken, not the strong. You give rest, not more burdens. Teach us to lay down our striving and live in Your strength.
Holy Spirit, guard our hearts from restlessness. Draw us back to Jesus every time we grasp for control. Let our peace exalt the Prince of Peace.

Poem — “Rest Given”
Weary hearts find Him.
Burdened souls breathe.
Chains loosen quietly.
Peace spreads deep.
Christ gives rest.

Storms do not stop.
Waves still crash.
Hearts stay calm.
Faith holds fast.
Jesus remains.

Rest is His gift.
Rest is His presence.
Rest is His promise.
Rest exalts Christ.
Rest glorifies God.
