Revelation 21:2 (NASB)
“And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.”
Devotional Thought:
The story ends with a new city. Gratitude longs for the day when the New Jerusalem descends and God dwells with His people.
Three Comments:
- Gratitude waits for the new city of God.
- The New Jerusalem is prepared like a bride—perfect and beautiful.
- Gratitude lives in hope of eternal fellowship with Him.
Poem – “The New City”
The city was holy,
The bride adorned,
The place prepared,
The glory near,
The promise fulfilled.
The heavens opened,
The earth was new,
The people gathered,
The God was present,
The joy complete.
Gratitude longs for the day,
Faith waits in hope,
Peace rests in His promise,
Love looks ahead,
Joy sings eternal.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You that You prepare a new city for us. Thank You that one day we will dwell with You forever.
Help me to live with gratitude as I wait for that day. May my hope be set on the new Jerusalem You are preparing.
