01/17 – A New Conversion

Acts 9:18 (NASB)
“And immediately something like fish scales fell from his eyes, and he regained his sight, and he got up and was baptized.”

Devotional Thought:
Saul the persecutor became Paul the preacher. Gratitude rejoices that God can transform even the hardest heart into a new creation.

Three Comments:

  1. Gratitude remembers that no one is beyond God’s grace.
  2. Conversion is both inner and outward—a new heart and new steps.
  3. Gratitude celebrates that God makes enemies into servants.

Poem – “The Eyes Opened”
The blindness was real,
The scales fell away,
The sight was restored,
The heart was changed,
The man was new.

The persecutor became preacher,
The enemy became friend,
The sinner became saint,
The lost was found,
The call was clear.

Gratitude rejoices in grace,
Faith follows His call,
Hope trusts His plan,
Peace rests in His will,
Joy serves His name.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You that You transformed Saul into Paul. Thank You that no heart is too hard for Your grace.
Help me to live in gratitude for my own conversion. May my life be proof of Your power to make all things new.
