01/15 – A New Beginning After Failure

John 21:17 (NASB)
“He said to him the third time, ‘Simon, son of John, do you love Me?’ Peter was hurt because He said to him the third time, ‘Do you love Me?’ And he said to Him, ‘Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Tend My sheep.’”

Devotional Thought:
Peter denied Jesus, but Jesus restored him. Gratitude rejoices that failure is not final with God. Christ gives us new beginnings even after our worst mistakes.

Three Comments:

  1. Gratitude remembers that Christ restores the fallen.
  2. Love for Jesus is the foundation of new service.
  3. Gratitude rejoices that failure can lead to fresh calling.

Poem – “Do You Love Me?”
The denials were bitter,
The shame was real,
But Jesus restored,
Love was renewed,
The call was clear.

Three questions asked,
Three answers given,
Grace covered failure,
Mercy renewed calling,
Hope rose again.

Gratitude rejoices in restoration,
Faith serves again,
Hope trusts His mercy,
Peace rests in His love,
Joy follows His voice.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You that You restored Peter after his failure. Thank You that Your mercy gives us new beginnings when we fall.
Help me to love You above all else and to serve You faithfully. May gratitude mark my life as one restored by Your grace.
