Joel 2:25 (NASB)
“Then I will compensate you for the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the creeping locust, the stripping locust, and the gnawing locust—My great army which I sent among you.”
Devotional Thought:
God promises to restore lost years. Gratitude sees that He can turn seasons of loss into seasons of abundance.
Three Comments:
- Gratitude trusts God to redeem wasted years.
- Restoration is greater than what was lost.
- Gratitude rejoices that nothing is beyond God’s power to restore.
Poem – “The Years Restored”
The fields were empty,
The harvest was gone,
But God spoke promise,
Restoration would come,
The years would be redeemed.
The locust had devoured,
The land was bare,
But grace would restore,
The barns would be full,
The joy would return.
Gratitude trusts His word,
Faith waits for His hand,
Hope sees His restoration,
Peace rests in His promise,
Joy rejoices again.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You that You restore the years the locusts have eaten. Thank You that no loss is beyond Your redemption.
Teach me to live in gratitude for Your restoring power. May my hope rest in Your ability to make all things new.
