THE FINISH
Distractions jangle all my nerves
Convincing me I’m weak
Never helping me to face the day
Crying out defeat.
Only when I think of the Lord
One day face to face
I see the power of your love
It reaches me today.
You are so wonderful
Caring for me so
You’ve gifted me with things to do
Help me on this side.
Then the gloom returns to me
I points out what I’ve done
I’m reminded of all my sin and pain
I can’t walk out the door.
My failure seems apparent
Pointing out how weak I am
Win or lose, rise or fall
I will not ever quit.
I want to know the Lord and do His will
Making time each day
My time with Him renews my faith
It helps me stand the pace.
I need all of the help you give
To face the daily grind
It’s hard to be just who I am
Walking, walking day by day.
The end is but a dream
I need you now, please come
When I renew my strength with you
It starts a whole new way.
