Nobody

There were no bands to play a tune
The day that I was born
My mother was sixteen
Already she was worn.

Life is often lonely
We labor in despair
From unknown places living
The world doesn’t care.

I refuse to kneel and cry
I will not be ignored
Life will not escape me
I am a son of the Lord.

To each a time is given
Make the best with what you have
Every single person is special
I can live and belong.

There is a path we take
I choose the way I will go
I can walk and stumble on
Or choose the Lord and not be alone.

Jesus is the way to God
There is no other way
But many choose a life alone
Destruction will be their home.

I am not a star,
I don’t deserve a thing
My birth wasn’t an event
My life was heaven sent

Each day is unlike the other
Minutes ticking by
I am just a servant
Jesus made me whole.
