 Misdirection

Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.

Confusion and the unknown are difficult things. I always assume the worst when bad things happen. But when good things happen I find myself worrying about the bad that will happen next. Jesus fixes bad things. He wants my attention and focus. That is my choice. I can listen to the world and worry or give my troubles to Jesus.

“Misdirection”

I have an affliction of misdirection
Often saying I’ll go one way and then going another
My interest for right is keen and I honestly can say I wanted to do the right thing
But my knowledge seldom gains control.

It’s just hard to train my feet
They seem to have a mind of their own
Many times they walk troubled paths of their own choosing
I wail and hurt and moan, remorseful all the way.

Nonetheless as a Christian I must change
Pain helps me abstain and fences me in
Fear and shame help too and keep me focused for a while
I want to become like Jesus, don’t you?

My Lord wants my attention and time
A refuge to get me through the grind
The spiritual world is active all the time
Sometimes I’m on their list.

Strength is what I really need
To face the unknown and my foe
The Father has it in abundance
But it takes my time for strength to grow.

I can choose to be a pauper
Begging from din to done
Or I can seek the Lord who has won
Joy peace, and victory for me, a son.
