DEEP

Journey from the deep
I was so far from you
But you followed me
You never let me go.

I felt the press of evil’s hand
I walked the roads of pain
Never knowing where to go
Evil seemed to reign.

One day you touched my heart
The Son has come to stay
Every time evil comes
Jesus turns it away.

I struggle with the ones I’m with
It’s very hard to smile
I cannot do the things I want
Life is hard when you’re alone.

I see the way I should be
I know the rights things to do
I must change the way I act
Help me Jesus become like you.

I’m still in pain and often overwhelmed
Each day seems the same
Jesus says be calm and grow
Change is always slow.

Christ is here to help me
He will not walk away
Even though I fail
Jesus is here to stay.
