Today's Good News

JANUARY 9 – SINNERS

01/09          Proverbs 23:17-18

17 Don’t envy sinners, but always continue to fear the LORD. 18 You will be rewarded for this; your hope will not be disappointed.

SINNERS

Sinners appear to have the upper hand with God but there is pay day some day and tragically it will be much sooner than a person thinks.  Life is short.  Death is permanent.  Turn to Jesus and ask Him to forgive you of your sin.  Trust in Jesus and your life will change forever.

JANUARY 8 – JESUS

01/08          Psalm 102:19

18 Let this be recorded for future generations, so that a people not yet born will praise the LORD . 19 Tell them the LORD looked down from his heavenly sanctuary. He looked down to earth from heaven 20 to hear the groans of the prisoners, to release those condemned to die.

JESUS

Jesus came as a little baby at the mercy of the world.  He lived a perfect life, and walked willingly to the Cross and died for us.  The power of God raised Jesus from the dead.  God lived among us.  Jesus has gifted us with the gift of forgiveness and eternal life.

JANUARY 7 – PEACE

01/07          Psalm 37:37

37 Look at those who are honest and good, for a wonderful future awaits those who love peace.

PEACE

We love law and order, harmony and living without chaos.  Peace encompasses all of this and even more for in Jesus we have peace with God and that is the cessation of war with Him.  We love Jesus and have trusted Him with our life and have peace with God.  We are no longer at war with Him and His lovingkindness is ours all day every day.  We love peace.

JANUARY 6 – SERVE

01/06          Psalm 22:30-31

30 Our children will also serve him. Future generations will hear about the wonders of the Lord. 31 His righteous acts will be told to those not yet born. They will hear about everything he has done.

SERVE

If we serve the Lord faithfully and proclaim His goodness to our children and all we meet they too will know the Lord and future generations will know Him.  Do not forget to tell others about Jesus so that everyone may hear.

JANUARY 5 – SHORT

01/05          Job 8:7-9

8 “Just ask the previous generation. Pay attention to the experience of our ancestors. 9 For we were born but yesterday and know nothing. Our days on earth are as fleeting as a shadow.

SHORT

Our time on Earth is short and we want to live a life of glory to God.  The Lord is good to us.  Every thought that the Lord has towards you is a thought for good.  Jesus loves you.

JANUARY 4 – LORD

01/04          1 Chronicles 17:17-20

17 And now, O God, in addition to everything else, you speak of giving your servant a lasting dynasty! You speak as though I were someone very great, O LORD God! 18 “What more can I say to you about the way you have honored me? You know what your servant is really like. 19 For the sake of your servant, O LORD, and according to your will, you have done all these great things and have made them known. 20 “O LORD, there is no one like you. We have never even heard of another God like you!

LORD

No one is like the Lord.  No other god is like our God.  He is Creator, Sustainer, Enabler, Equipper, Protector, and our Father.  There is nothing else like our Lord Jesus.  Praise the Lord for His love for us.  Praise the Lord for being here with us.  We are never alone for the Lord God Almighty is our blessed Father.

JANUARY 3 – FORGIVEN

01/03          2 Samuel 7:19-20

19 And now, Sovereign LORD, in addition to everything else, you speak of giving your servant a lasting dynasty! Do you deal with everyone this way, O Sovereign LORD? 20 “What more can I say to you? You know what your servant is really like, Sovereign LORD.

FORGIVEN

We are alive in Christ, His death on the Cross paid the price for our sin and we walk in His power as His children forgiven and righteous by His power.  Lord we are in awe that you love us.  We are grateful beyond our ability to communicate but we do Lord tell everyone what you have done for us.  Thank you Lord.

JANUARY 2 – KNOW

01/02          Joshua 4:21-24

21 Then Joshua said to the Israelites, “In the future your children will ask, ‘What do these stones mean?’ 22 Then you can tell them, ‘This is where the Israelites crossed the Jordan on dry ground.’ 23 For the LORD your God dried up the river right before your eyes, and he kept it dry until you were all across, just as he did at the Red Sea when he dried it up until we had all crossed over. 24 He did this so all the nations of the earth might know that the LORD ’s hand is powerful, and so you might fear the LORD your God forever.”

KNOW

We must tell everyone what Jesus has done for us.  Children must know about the Lord so that they can make their own choice.  Do not let anyone be ignorant about Jesus our Lord and Savior.  He is Lord.  He is Lord of all.  Jesus is God.

JANUARY 1 – RESPONSIBILITY

01/01          Deuteronomy 6:20

20 “In the future your children will ask you, ‘What is the meaning of these laws, decrees, and regulations that the LORD our God has commanded us to obey?’

RESPONSIBILITY

We must educate our children about the Lord.  They need to know what their parents think.  Do not let your children be ignorant about Jesus tell them what Jesus has done in your life and then let them see the reflection of Jesus in you as they grow up.  They can make up their own mind as an adult but they must know the truth to decide.  Tell everyone about Jesus.

DECEMBER 31 – TRUST

12/31          Isaiah 40:30-31

30 Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. 31 But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

TRUST

Whatever you are facing, whatever you are doing the Lord God will give you the strength you need for living a life like God’s life.  He calls us to grow in Christ likeness.  Jesus is alive today.  He is our Savior.
