Today's Good News

FEBRUARY 28 – BELIEVE

02/28          2 Corinthians 5:7

7 For we live by believing and not by seeing.

BELIEVE

Lord I believe, help my unbelief.  I believe but I act like a pagan.  Lord change me-help my unbelief.  I believe but I worry myself sick.  Lord change me-help my unbelief.  Every area of my life needs to be brought under your personal belief in God.  Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved.  Believe in Him.

FEBRUARY 27 – HOME

02/27          2 Corinthians 5:1

1 For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands.

HOME

We have a home in heaven.  It is a home that is made by the Lord God Himself.  It will never suffer decay.  Those there ahead of us know where we will be.  Our Lord is a good God and He has made every little thing for us in His kingdom.

FEBRUARY 26 – YOU

02/26          1 Corinthians 16:13-14

13 Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. 14 And do everything with love.

YOU

The call to accountability is a personal call.  Each one of us is called to accountability before the Lord.  What we do, what we think, how we live is each an avenue of accountability.  Make mistake about this, the Lord knows you and every little thing about you.

FEBRUARY 25 – MESSAGE

02/25          1 Corinthians 15:1-4

1 Let me now remind you, dear brothers and sisters, of the Good News I preached to you before. You welcomed it then, and you still stand firm in it.  2 It is this Good News that saves you if you continue to believe the message I told you—unless, of course, you believed something that was never true in the first place.  3 I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. 4 He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said.

MESSAGE

Jesus is alive.  He was raised from the dead by the power of God.  He is alive and He lives in you.  Blessed be the name of the Lord.

FEBRUARY 24 – LOVE

02/24          1 Corinthians 13:13

13 Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.

LOVE

Love lasts.  Love heals.  Love forgives-even the unlovely.  Love is the element that makes us most like the Father.  He calls us to love one another.  That really changes a life.

FEBRUARY 23 – ENDURES

02/23          1 Corinthians 13:7

7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

ENDURES

Love endures.  Love is grounded in faith.  We live today by faith but one day face to face we will see Jesus.  He proved His love to us by dying on the Cross to pay the price for our sin.  Be assured that if you are to learn to love as Jesus loved you will make huge sacrifices.  Die to self.  Live for Jesus.

FEBRUARY 22 – FREE GIFT

02/22          Romans 6:22-23

22 But now you are free from the power of sin and have become slaves of God. Now you do those things that lead to holiness and result in eternal life.  23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

FREE GIFT

Salvation is free.  It is a gift from God to you if you choose to accept it.  If you accept His free gift of Salvation He gives you a new heart and a new life-eternal life-life like God’s.  You become a member of His family.  His Holy Spirit will oversee your life.  You will change.  You will love those you are with.

FEBRUARY 21 – CLAIM

02/21          Romans 6:11-14

11 So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus. 12 Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires. 13 Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God. 14Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.

CLAIM

Claim your rights as a child of God.  Claim His power.  Claim His control of your mind and your life.  Jesus is Lord and He can easily direct your life in the way of the Lord.  Holiness is a choice.  You can be holy.  Choose Jesus.

FEBRUARY 20 – VALUE

02/20          Romans 12:12-16
Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying.  13 When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality. 14 Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them. 15 Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep. 16 Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all!

VALUE

People count.  All people have real, God-given value.  We are to value everyone we come into contact with.  Treat them the way you want to be treated.  Do not forget to pray for those who mistreat you.  You and I are called to live in harmony and reality.  Jesus is indeed Lord of all things.

FEBRUARY 19 – HOLY

02/19          Romans 12:1-2

1 And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. 2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

HOLY

You and I are called to live life as a victorious family member of the Almighty God.  We do not stumble over the sins of the world.  We live in deference to the mighty, not stymied by the evil of the current generation and in fact are very different than the world.  How are we different?  We love one another.  We do not wear different clothes.  We do not look down our nose at the lost-Jesus died for the lost.  We love them.  The call from the Cross is to love one another.
